The culture of recycling

Let’s face it. Some people just don’t recycle.  Often this is due to a lack of understanding and/or urgency. For some it’s a matter of belief – doubt, loathing and cynicism. But it’s probably safe to say most people consider it a simple matter of inconvenience (e.g., collection bin locations, pick-up times, etc.; anything that might interfere in one’s daily routine).

Earth911 published an nice little piece in late-October profiling five real and would-be recyclers.

Who do you know that doesn’t recycle?  Is it a matter of inconvenience, economics or ideology?

Inconvenience should never be a primary reason for not recycling materials, including textiles (i.e., clothing). That’s why USAgain makes it a point to place collection bins in convenient locations in our serviced urban environments. Visit USAgain.com to learn more.
